shaped
circular
salver
is
raised
, its
rim
hammered
into a
scalloped
border
, and a
cast
gadrooned-and-shell
molding
applied
. The
coat
of
arms
is
centrally
engraved
within
an
oval
cartouche
bordered
by
frilled
shells
and
crossed
branches
. The
border
of the
flat
plate
is
engraved
with
representations
of the
four
elements
within
scrolled
cartouches
,
alternating
with
smaller
cartouches
engraved
with
vases
of
fruit
,
each
linked
by
scrolled
reserves
of
ribbing
or
diaperwork
centered
by a
decorative
device
.
Floral
sprays
are
engraved
beneath
each
fruit-filled
cartouche
and
above
some
of the
reserves
.
Three
openwork
feet
composed
of
shells
,
scrolls
,
volutes
, and
overlapping
scales
are
cast
and
applied
to the
rim
,
which
is
cut
to
accommodate
them
