Notes	Crichton Brothers (ca. 1890-1950s) Marks: Fully marked on underside of cup and cover bezel: maker's mark LAC (Jackson 1921, p. 235 Culme #10639-10647) lion's head erased Britannia date letter m for 1927/28. Also marked on underside of cup: CRICHTON & CO/LTD/MADE IN ENGLAND Heraldry: Engraved on one side with the arms and motto of Woodward, for William Woodward of Baltimore, Maryland, and New York, New York, and on the other with the arms and mottoes of Calvert, representing the state of Maryland Medium notes: Description/Construction/Condition. The raised, inverted bell-shaped cup has a strengthening molding applied at its rim and two moldings around the body, each seamed once vertically. The arms are engraved above the upper molding and the inscriptions between the two moldings a further inscription is engraved upside down inside the rim. The scrolled, leaf-capped handles are cast in identical halves seamed vertically, with a tiny casting hole at the bottom. The molded circular foot is cast. The domed circular cover is raised and has a wide applied bezel, seamed once vertically. The bud finial is cast in identical halves seamed vertically In: Beth Carver Wees.
